Intaglio Composites
Creates Real time test!

A "real time" test sample will be installed at the largest honkey tonk in Texas, Bill Bob's. This well trafficked area will test the quality of coating materials and how they effect the longevity of color, wear, and strength properties. The test composite will be a sidewalk inlay measuring 60" X 39". The piece will be cast using our special mix design at 4" thickness. Once determined, we will provide readers with the selected coating materials and stains.

Every month, a test analysis and accompanying photos will be posted on our website, as well as a non-biased account of the quality and durability of our product. We invite you to check back and see the results.

Below is the cast logo, colorized and ready for installation.

Here is the final work installed on March 9, 2005. We wanted to determine the wear ability of the materials independent of any surface sealant. The only modification to the cast work is a densifier that is absorbed into the surface to increase the hydration process and the addition of colorant.

Photos taken 1 month later after 26,000 people crossed over the threshold showed levels of degradation in coloring, however the detail is holding up well. We will now remove the discoloration with cleaners, strip the stain down and refinish the surface; this time, we will introduce a surface sealant for protection.

Coloring will be reapplied and then sealed.
